The program consisted of various meaningful activities, including offering incense and flowers at Nghi Xuan district War Cemetery; inquiring after and presenting gifts to heroic Vietnamese mothers, policy beneficiaries, religious people, needy fishermen and disadvantaged children with excellent academic results; and organizing the contest “I love national sea and islands.”

On the occasion, the organizing panel conducted dissemination activities about the Law on Vietnam Coast Guard and regulations on combating illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing among 150 fishermen, as well as handed over 500 national flags and distributed 1,000 leaflets to fishermen at Xuan Hoi fishing port.

The program contributed to arousing patriotism among people and heightening their responsibility in protecting national sovereignty over sea and islands, preventing illegal fishing activities in foreign waters.

Also, it showed the sentiment and responsibility of the Vietnamese coast guard force in general and Coast Guard Region 1 in particular in taking care of heroic Vietnamese mothers, and helping policy beneficiaries, religious people, needy fishermen and disadvantaged children overcome difficulties.
