Accordingly, coast guards organized law dissemination programs to help fishermen embrace the importance of the national seas and islands to the national defense and security posture as well as international and Vietnamese laws relating to fishing at sea

On the occasion, the Political Department of Coast Guard Region 3 and the Mass Mobilization Board of Con Dao district’s Party Committee signed an agreement on the joint implementation of the “Coast guards go alongside fishermen” program.

The organizers also presented 70 gifts to policy beneficiaries and scholarships and bicycles to needy students with good academic records. Meanwhile, medical workers of Coast Guard Region 3 and District 2 Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City provided free health checkups and medicines to more than 300 people in the district, hosted an art exchange and a drawing contest for local children, and instructed essential first aid techniques to save drowning victims to islanders and children.

The mission also presented water tanks, national flags, medical kits, life jackets and life buoys to islanders and fishermen and joined hands with local forces to clean up the beach.
