During the event, officers from the Coast Guard Region 2 Command disseminated the Party’s guidelines and the State’s laws and policies regarding national sea and islands, as well as the Vietnam Coast Guard Law, to local fishermen and trawler owners. The dissemination focused on guiding them to identify and prevent illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing.

Functional forces expected that through the program, they will raise fishermen’s awareness of complying with domestic and international laws, refraining from violating foreign waters, and joining hands to develop a sustainable, modern, and responsible fishery sector.

Senior Colonel Tran Hong Que, Deputy Political Commissar of the Coast Guard Region 2 Command, emphasized that law dissemination and education not only help fishermen clearly understand regulations during their operations but also tighten the military-civilian solidarity, contributing to building a strong local political base and consolidating the whole-people defense posture.

On this occasion, the Coast Guard Region 2 Command presented 50 gifts (worth VND 1 million each) to policy beneficiary families and disadvantaged fishermen in Thuan An ward. The working delegation also visited the port to encourage fishermen and hand over national flags and gifts (worth VND 2 million each) to two anchored fishing boats.

On the same day, the unit’s military medical personnel coordinated with local health workers to provide health consultations, check-ups, and 100 free medicine kits to local residents. These practical activities reflected the profound care of the Coast Guard force, a firm fulcrum for fishermen to operate at sea.
