Book festival held for People’s Police trainees
PANO - The first ever festival to popularize books used in People’s Police academies and schools opened on August 15, according to a press conference held on August 14 by the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Police.
The event was to mark the 72nd founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Police (August 19) and the 12th Festive Day of All People Defending Fatherland’s Security.

The festival aimed to introduce police cadres, cadets and troops books about the glorious tradition, building, combat and development of their service and to intensively build a book-reading movement and carry out other life-long learning activities in libraries, contributing to raising cultural awareness and augmenting the spiritual life of the instructors, cadets and troops.
It also helped promote coordination, support and improve the quality as well as efficiency of activities launched by archive centers and libraries of People’s Police academies and schools.
During the two-day festival under the theme “People’s Police Cadres and Troops Studying and Implementing Uncle Ho’s Six Teachings”, each participating unit will introduce one or three books kept in their libraries and in praise of the Party and Uncle Ho, the history of the people’s police force, and role models in studying Uncle Ho’s six teachings.
