They include many valuable things such as certificates of merit, medals and orders, diaries, letters, maps, keepsakes of soldiers, who were engaged in the anti-American war. Notably among these objects, there are several keepsakes of Colonel Dao Van Truong, former Deputy Chief of the General Staff cum former Chief of the well-known Artillery Group 351, and Nguyen Manh Dan, former head of the tactical subcommittee of the 1954 historic Dien Bien Phu Campaign. They are the only two witnesses alive joining the ceremony. At the hand-over ceremony, these historical witnesses also recalled a number of stories and memories closely relating to their keepsakes.
Over the past years, with support from organizations and individuals both at home and overseas, the VMHM has received and displayed many valuable items with significant historical values, contributing to educating traditions for younger generations and providing the true and exact information to international friends.
