Participating forces at the opening ceremony

During ten-day competitions, participating units will compete in such events as regular and exemplary ships, good depots and stations, handling of situations, showing talent in specialized subjects, and practice of combat crews in operations. In the competition for cadres, competitors will join multiple-choice and practical exams on staff and political work, logistics supplies and technical services, compete in breaststroke swimming and training on line-up regulations.

These competitions aim to evaluate the outcomes of the regular and exemplary ship building, the efficiency of the maintenance of technical equipment on ships, vehicles at depots and stations. They are important to make accurate and objective assessment of the contingent of cadres and crews in commanding, using and operating weapons and technical equipment staffed for submarines and surface vessels of the brigade.

The results of the competitions will help the brigade’s Party Committee and Chain-of-Command, and its affiliates to find out shortcomings to fix in a timely manner and enhance training to raise troops’ professional competence to meet task requirements.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Senior Captain Nguyen Van Quan, Commanding Officer of Submarine Brigade 189, asked agencies, units, and competitors to fully understand the significance and targets of the competitions, observe regulations, promote high sense of responsibility, and show high determination to achieve the highest possible results.
