Refresher course for commanding officers of military ships in 2022 opened
PANO – The General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA), in coordination with the Naval Service, launched a refresher course for commanding officers of military ships in the whole military, on July 25.
The program was attended by representatives from Military Regions 3, 4, 5, 7, 9; the Naval Service; the Vietnam Coast Guard Command; the Vietnam Border Guard Command; and the Department of Transportation under the General Department of Logistics.

Deputy Chief of the Staff of the Vietnam People’s Navy Rear Admiral Tran Ngoc Quyet chaired the event.
From July 25 to 28, the participants will join theoretical and practical parts, including preparing related documents and lesson plans, mapping out documents on live-fire shooting sections at sea, performing ship’s damage repairing, and addressing arising issues at sea, to name but a few. Especially, they will also practice live-fire training at sea.
The training course aims to raise the participants’ competence in training and staff work, learning more about training methods, running live-fire sections at sea so as to meet all task requirements in their units in the current context.
