Over the past time, under the sound leadership and guidance of the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, defense agencies and units have been exerting efforts to overcome difficulties and to fulfill their assigned tasks. One of the highlights in the task fulfillment of defense agencies and units is scientific research activities.

Accordingly, units and agencies have made good assessment of the situation and conducted theoretical studies to find out solutions to meet missions’ practical requirements. A number of large-scale science and technology missions have been kicked off in order to make target products… Much progress has also been made in the management of the defense scientific and technological sector. The system of legal documents and policies to regulate the sector’s activities has been perfected and has been proved to be suitable for the military environment, bringing about good outcomes for the implementation of specific military-defense tasks. As a result, the defense scientific-technological capabilities have been strengthened and developed in terms of facilities and scientific manpower, in both quantity and quality.

Concluding the session, Mr. Phan Xuan Dung highly valued the efforts of the MND in implementing the policies and laws on science and technology and acknowledged proposals and recommendations from MND functional agencies, requesting the National Assembly to revise and supplement the some legal documents to most facilitate the defense scientific-technological sector’s operation and the cause of military modernization.
