* The General Department of Technical Services (GDT) launched a tree-planting festival themed “Forever grateful to Uncle Ho.”

Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh attended and chaired the event.

Speaking at the event, General Vinh hailed the GDT’s achievements over the past times and required the general department to continue boosting information dissemination to raise troops’ awareness of the meaning of tree-planting and forest protection.

Since 2016, the GDT has planted nearly 1.5 million trees of different kinds.

After the launching ceremony, the GDT planted 300 timber trees at Depot K802.

* Previously, Military Region 1 (MR1) kicked off a tree-planting festival.

On this occasion, the region has planned to plant more than 142,000 new trees of different kinds.

* On February 7-9, military agencies and units from the Engineering Corps launched a tree-planting festival to shade and cool training grounds.

On this occasion, the units under the corps aim to plant over 42,000 timber and fruit trees.

* On February 9, the Technical Department of MR2 kicked off the tree-planting festival themed “Forever grateful to Uncle Ho” in response to the government’s program of planting one billion green trees.

This year, the department sets a goal to plant 14,000 trees of different kinds.

* On February 10, MR3 and Ninh Binh province launched the tree-planting festival in 2022.

At the ceremony, the MR3 Command asked its affiliated units to continue promoting information dissemination to raise the public's and troops’ awareness of the meaning of tree-planting and forest protection, contributing to ecological environment protection and climate change prevention.

In 2022, MR3 plans to plant over 217,300 trees of different kinds.
