Addressing the tree-planting festival “Forever grateful to Uncle Ho” organized by Brigade 87 of the Department of Electronic Warfare under the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, its chief Senior Colonel Pham Van Hung emphasized the significance and practical role of such a festival.

The senior officer said that the unit’s Party Committee and chain-of-command have always conducted the festival with the highest sense of responsibility and high resolve.
At the festival, 250 trees were planted on the campus of Brigade 87.
This year, Brigade 87 sets a target that each soldier plants and takes care of 1-2 trees and actively participates in activities to protect the environment and respond to climate change.
Over the past years, Brigade 87 has planted hundreds of fruit and timber trees on a yearly basis, contributing to beautifying the barracks and improving the cultural life of troops.
At the ceremony launched by Regiment 82 of Military Region 2, more than 500 troops planted nearly 2,000 trees, including 1,500 timber ones.

Meanwhile, at Training Ground 493 in Binh Khe commune, Dong Trieu town, the Quang Ninh provincial Military Command and Division 395 of Brigade 405 of Military Region 3 launched a tree-planting festival, during which Senior Colonel Khuc Thanh Du, Chief of the command called on agencies, units, localities to boost dissemination on the meaning of the festival and long-term benefit of tree-planting.
The same day, after the launching ceremony in Nghi Cong Nam commune, Nghi Loc district, Nghe An province, affiliated agencies and units of the provincial military command planted trees at their barracks. This year, the provincial armed forces plan to plant more than 5,000 trees, contributing to ecological environment protection.
