Military schools have new secretaries and commissars
PANO - The Political Officer Candidate School and Army Academy on August 30 held ceremonies to hand over duties between new and former secretaries of Party Committee and commissars.

At the event, Lt. Gen. Tran Quang Trung handed over duties of the secretary of the Party Committee and Commissar of the Political Officer Candidate School to Major General Nguyen Quoc Tuan.
Addressing the event, Deputy Director of the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP) Sr. Lt. Gen. Do Can stressed that the standing board of the Central Military Commission, Ministry of National Defense and GDP’s leaders highly praised Lt. Gen. Tran Quang Trung for his merits and contribution to the school’s construction and development.
Gen. Can hoped that in his new post, Maj. Gen. Nguyen Quoc Tuan will work closely with the school’s Party Committee and Board of Directors to promote the school’s tradition of solidarity, unity, improve efficiency of the Party and political work, and build an outstanding strong Party Committee and a comprehensively-strong, exemplary, and typical school.

Meanwhile, at the event held by the Army Academy, GDP’s Deputy Director Lt. Gen. Trinh Van Quyet highlighted the contribution of Lt. Gen. Le Quang Xuan, former commissar of the academy, to the development of the academy in particular and the military in general. He wished Gen. Xuan to promote good virtue of Uncle Ho’s soldiers and continue making contribution to the academy, military, and nation during his retirement.
Confirming that the appointment of Maj. Gen. Do Van Banh to the posts of Secretary of the Party Committee and Commissar of the academy is important to develop the school in the time ahead and to show the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense’s leaders’ trust in him, Gen. Quyet hoped that Gen. Banh will continue raising responsibility and lead the academy to fulfil all assignments.
