* The new school year opening ceremony at the Military Technical Academy was attended by Deputy-Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, Deputy-Minister of Science and Technology Pham Dai Duong and Lieutenant General Pham Hong Huong, Deputy-Chief-of-the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army.

Addressing the ceremony, Major General Nguyen Cong Dinh, Director of the Academy stated that the school’s party committee and board of directors have, over recent times, implemented well all instructions from higher levels on education and training, conducted scientific researches and built a body of qualified teachers and educational staff, contributing to meeting the requirements of developing the Academy to be the leading training establishment of the army. In addition, General Dinh apprised six major tasks of the new school year 2017-2018 to all teachers, cadets and employees of the Academy.

Having hailed the school’s results achieved last year, the Deputy PM asked them to continue to grasp all resolutions and guidelines of the Party, the State and the Central Military Commission in the new school year. Apart from that, he requested the school to improve educational quality in order to be the leading training center of the army and the country.
The senior leader also inquired after the school’s cadets and students on the occasion of their new school year and asked them to actively participate in scientific researches.
* The same day, the Border Guard Academy launched the new school year 2017-2018 in the presence of Senior Lieutenant General Le Chiem, Deputy-Defense Minister and Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, Commander of the Border Guards.
Speaking to the school’s leadership, teachers and cadets, General Chiem highly valued their outcomes over the past year and asked them to continue to embrace resolutions from senior levels, reforming training content and program and practicing field-training regularly in line with combined exercises.
He also requested the school’s leadership to expand relationships and accelerate training cooperation with the Border Guard Academy of Russia while opening more training courses for officers of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces and the Lao People’s Army.
* A similar ceremony was also held in the Political Officer Training School on the same day with Lieutenant General Do Can, Deputy-Director of the General Department of Politics in attendance.

Delivering his speech at the event, General Can acknowledged achievements made by the school’s teachers and students in the past and urged them to grasp all levels’ resolutions and directives in order to improve training quality and promote the efficiency of their emulation drives.
* The Air Defense-Air Force Academy also started its new school year on the morning of September 14 in the presence Major General Lam Quang Dai, Political Commissar of the Air Defense-Air Force Service.
Speaking at the ceremony, Major General Ha Xuan Truong, Director of the Academy reviewed the school’s achievements last year. Accordingly, the Academy’s teachers and cadets fulfilled all training tasks with good academic records.
On behalf of the Service’s leadership, General Dai asked the school to positively renew training program and content in conformity with each personnel, promote cadets’ activeness and creativeness, and enhance the physical health of troops, contributing to meeting the requirements of their tasks in the current context.
