Military Library receives noble order
PANO - The Military Library under the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army held a ceremony on Nov. 15 to mark its 60th founding anniversary (Nov. 15, 1957) and receive the first-class Fatherland Protection Order.
Present at the ceremony were Senior Lieutenant General Le Chiem, Deputy Defense Minister and Major General Le Hien Van, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics. General Ngo Xuan Lich, Defense Minister and Senior Lieutenant General Luong Cuong, Director of the General Department of Politics, sent congratulatory flowers to the event.

From a small library with 500 books at the beginning, the Military Library has maintained and built its collection of hundreds of thousands of books and over 1,600 copies of newspapers and magazines. Every year, the unit receives an average of 4,000 genres of materials with around 11,000 copies and 300 copies of newspapers both at home and abroad.
In the coming time, the unit has scheduled to continue to embrace guidelines from higher levels, enhancing information dissemination to heighten the reading habit among troops as well as renewing contents and forms of operation, contributing to the education and management for troops.
On behalf of the State President, General Chiem handed over the first-class Fatherland Protection Order to the library’s leadership at the ceremony.
