Reports revealed that in 2021, the academy met and surpassed targets of promoting the quality of education and training. However, the COVID-19 pandemic posed considerable challenges to the academy, affecting all aspects of life of instructors, workers, cadets, and soldiers in the academy.

Last year, under the leadership of the Central Military Commission (CMC), the Ministry of National Defense and the academy’s Party Committee, units in the academy actively participated in contests held by the General Department of Political Affairs and the General Staff and gained many remarkable achievements, namely the first prize at the contest on the life and career of General Vo Nguyen Giap, the third prize at the ninth Olympiad on Marxism - Leninism and Ho Chi Minh’s thought for military academies, schools, and universities in 2021, to name but a few.
Speaking at the event, Lieutenant General Duong Duc Thien applauded the great efforts of the whole academy, especially honored outstanding individuals and groups for their achievements at national and whole-military contests in 2021.

He underlined that these achievements will help the academy to enhance its position and prestige in education, training, and scientific research.
In the coming time, he asked leaders of agencies and units, as well as officers, instructors, cadets, and soldiers to further strengthen emulation movements on learning and scientific research to raise the academy’s education and training quality, contributing to the cause of building a revolutionary, regular, elite, and gradually modernised military.
