GDP’s deputy chief chairs duty handover ceremony at General Department of Defense Industry
PANO - Deputy Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP) Lieutenant General Do Xuan Tung chaired a conference on December 24 to hand over the duty of Party Secretary and Political Commissar of the General Department of Defense Industry to Major General Dinh Quoc Hung, former Party Secretary of Unit 969 and former Political Commissar of the President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Protection Command.
Speaking at the event, General Tung congratulated Maj. Gen. Dinh Quoc Hung on his appointment as Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of the General Department of Defense Industry. The GDP’s deputy chief requested General Hung to make every effort to overcome difficulties, uphold his responsibilities, and work closely with the Standing Committee, the Party Committee, and the leadership of the general department to strengthen internal unity.
The GDP’s deputy chief emphasized the importance of focusing on leadership and guidance to ensure that the general department fulfills its assigned tasks, contributing to building a healthy and strong Party Organization and a comprehensively strong, exemplary, outstanding, and increasingly robust general department.
General Tung also directed the general department to maintain solidarity while implementing various programs, plans, projects, and proposals, especially key projects to enhance the capabilities of the defense industry. He stressed the need to enhance leadership over the review of task performance in 2024 and the formulation of plans for 2025 that are well-aligned with the situation.
Additionally, the GDP’s deputy chief emphasized the importance of monitoring, evaluating, and forecasting situations to promptly advise the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense on policies and solutions for the development of the defense industry. He also laid stress on the acceleration of the implementation of legal documents on the defense industry.
