Chief of the General Staff and Deputy Defense Minister General Nguyen Tan Cuong attended and directed the rehearsal. Deputy Chief of the General Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nghia joined the event.

The rehearsal aimed to assess results and draw lessons to serve as a foundation for the units to further train the participating forces, thus ensuring the success of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.

Speaking at the event, General Nguyen Tan Cuong lauded participating forces for their activeness and efforts and their first achievements in training. He urged them to continue training with the highest sense of responsibility and utmost effort to ensure that the parade corresponds to the scale and significance of the 50th anniversary of the event.

He requested the forces to uphold their responsibilities and actively train to master all movements; overcome all difficulties; make full use of time for practice; and strictly comply with military discipline and unit regulations.

The Chief of the General Staff asked instructors and management officers to closely follow the training and make timely adjustments and review the performance of each member and unit. The defense leader emphasized the need to ensure absolute safety of participating forces and equipment.

General Cuong asked the General Department of Logistics - Technical Services to provide adequate vehicles and technical equipment for training; ensure food safety and hygiene; improve meal quality, and take good care of the troops’ health. The General Department of Political Affairs should study and build emulation contents for forces joining the parade, then summarize and recommend commendations for individuals and collectives with exemplary achievements.
