Defense Minister visits former MND, General Staff leaders
PANO - A delegation of the Central Military Commission (CMC), the Ministry of National Defense (MND), led by Defense Minister General Phan Van Giang, visited and send good health wishes to some former leaders of the MND and the General Staff on April 27.
It was among activities in celebration of the 49th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - 2024), and the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - 2024).

The delegation visited General Ngo Xuan Lich, former Deputy Secretary of the CMC, and former Defense Minister; General Do Ba Ty, former Chief of the General Staff and Deputy Defense Minister; Sr. Lt. Gen. Truong Quang Khanh, former Deputy Defense Minister; Sr. Lt. Gen. Pham Xuan Hung and Lt. Gen. Nguyen Quoc Khanh, former Deputy Chiefs of the General Staff.

During the visits, Gen. Giang inquired after the former leaders’ health and informed them of outstanding achievements of the whole military in military and defense tasks performance over the past time and key missions that the CMC and MND are carrying out.
He highlighted the military’s good implementation of training and combat readiness tasks, promotion of key role in national construction and defense cause, and being a firm and reliable fulcrum for the people as well as troops’ utmost efforts, staying ready to undertake and complete all assignments.

Emphasizing the former leaders’ great contribution to the building of a standardized, elite, gradually-modernized military, Minister Giang wished them good health, happiness and hoped that they would continue to pay attention to, follow, and contribute valuable opinions to helping build stronger military of Vietnam which excellently fulfills all assigned missions.
