The event was part of the activities to mark the 78th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) and the National Day (September 2).

After offering flowers and incense to show their deep gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh for his great contribution and sacrifices to the Party’s revolutionary cause, the delegation reported the task accomplishment of the military in the first six months of this year to President Ho Chi Minh. In the first half of 2023, under the leadership and direction of the CMC, MND, party committees and chains-of-command of units at all levels, the whole military comprehensively fulfilled assigned missions.

Notably, the whole military studied, accurately evaluated situations, and made recommendations to the Party and State to deal with circumstances in a timely and effective manner, contributing to firmly safeguarding national sovereignty; well carried out training programs, exercises, and festivals; paid attention to building comprehensively strong, exemplary, and outstanding units; accelerated the implementation of administrative reform, e-government building, and digital transformation; ensured logistics supplies and technical services  for both regular and unscheduled missions. In addition, the international integration and external defense relations activities were pro-actively and flexibly carried out. Vietnam actively participated in U.N. peacekeeping operations and humanitarian assistance and natural disaster relief in Turkey and was highly appreciated by the world.

In the coming time, the CMC and MND promised to focus leadership and direction on the implementation of military and defense missions and building of politically-, ideologically-, ethically-, and organizationally-strong Military Party Organization.   The whole military will continue to carry out resolutions and conclusions on military and defense work and Fatherland protection missions in the new situation; enhance the quality of political and ideological education; actively protect ideological foundation of the Party and renew methods to effectively combat wrongful allegations of hostile forces; resolutely fight the phenomena of degradation of political and moral thoughts, “self-evolution” and “self-transformation”; promote studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality, and lifestyle.

Writing in the visitors’ book at the President Ho Chi Minh Commemorative House in K9 - Da Chong Relic Site, Gen. Giang promised that the CMC, the MND, and troops in the whole military will stick to the Party and President Ho Chi Minh’s path; be absolutely loyal to the Party, State, and socialism; continuously promote heroism and the glorious tradition of the Vietnam People’s Army and be ready to undertake and fulfill missions assigned by the Party, State, and people.

Earlier the same day, the mission of the CMC and the MND offered incense at the Temple dedicated to President Ho Chi Minh in Ba Vi National Park in Ba Vi district.
