At Brigade 125 under the Naval Region 2 Command, eight teams from agencies and flotillas of Brigade 125 jointed the event. Teams from on-duty ships were allowed to make the cakes on their ships.
The "banh chung" making competition was part of the activities to ensure food supplies for troops during the lunar New Year holidays, educate and encourage them to preserve the beautiful culture of the nation, enrich team work skills, and enhance solidarity. The activity was also to create a happy atmosphere for troops to successfully fulfill guard duties during Tet.

After the event, all "banh chung" made by the eight participating teams were handed over to agencies and units.
Apart from the event, Brigade 125 also held various activities, including room decoration competition, tug of war, cultural and artistic performances, to celebrate the founding anniversary of the Party and welcome a new year.

The same day, Brigade 144 under the General Staff held a similar event with the participation of personnel from the brigade’s sister units, which are Dien Bien and Quan Thanh wards in Ba Dinh district, Regiment 30 under the Mobile Police Command, and Military University of Culture and Arts.
The activity was to raise the spirit of solidarity in the whole unit and create a joyful and exciting atmosphere to celebrate Tet and welcome spring. It also aimed to disseminate and educate Brigade 144’s troops about traditions and cultural beauty of the nation, thus motivating them to be determined to fulfill all assigned missions, especially guard duty during the lunar New Year 2023.

Apart from the competition, the unit organized folk games, cultural and artistic activities, and sports exchange for troops.
In Division 317 under Military Region 7, seven teams from its affiliates participated in the event.
At the end of the competition, the division awarded seven groups with good results. The team from the Staff Department won first prize.
According to Second-in-Command of Division 317 Senior Colonel Pham Van Kien, the "banh chung" making competition was one of the significant activities held by the unit to create a joyful atmosphere in the unit and to enhance spiritual life for troops.
