Air defense troops start live-fire exercise
PANO – The Air Defense - Air Force Service opened a live-fire exercise in 2017 for air defense troops at the National Firing Range Region 1 on September 5 under the watch of Lieutenant General Pham Hong Huong, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, and representatives of relevant agencies.
The exercise aims at evaluating the real situation of the training and combat readiness capabilities of air defense units. It is also a chance to look into the quality of weapons and equipment and technical services of the Air Defense - Air Force Service and heighten the combat and command capacity as well as the coordination among units during operations. The results of the exercise will help draw lessons for the troops in their forthcoming training.
After the opening ceremony, air defense batteries joined live-fire contents of the exercise as planned. The exercise is scheduled to conclude on September 7.
