VPA performs excellently at Army Games 2021

In this year’s competition, the VPA sent 17 contingents to compete in 15 contests, two of which were staged in Vietnam. Thanks to great efforts, all contingents fulfilled their performance well, while many excellently accomplished their competitions.

As a result, the VPA snatched one gold, two silver and four bronze medals, together with other individual noble awards. At the Army Games 2021, Vietnam ranked seventh out of 42 participating countries.

According to Major General Pham Van Thai, Deputy Director of the Department of Military Training under the VPA’s General Staff and Head of the VPA delegation, all athletes raised a high sense of determination and responsibility during training and competition. Amid the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic and intensive training, the participating contingents promoted Uncle Ho’s soldiers’ strong will and made great efforts during competition at the Army Games 2021.

The games is considered an occasion for the VPA to beef up defense cooperation with participating countries, especially the long-standing traditional relationship between Vietnam and Russia, on the basis of solidarity and mutual understanding, while raising training capabilities and combat readiness.

After returning home, the delegation is quarantined according to regulations of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of National Defense’s Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.
