At the reception at the Vietnamese Defense Ministry’s headquarter, Gen. San underlined the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, which are preserved and promoted by the two countries’ senior leaders, two defense ministries, and two peoples.

He highly appreciated the bilateral defense ties over the past time, saying that it has been implemented practically and effectively in terms of training, exchange of delegations. He also highlighted the effective maintenance of the consultation and dialogue mechanisms.
For his part, Lt. Gen. Khamphet Sisanone informed the host of the outcomes of his talks with his Vietnamese counterpart Lt. Gen. Tran Duy Giang, during which they reached agreement to promote cooperation in training, military medicine, sharing experience in economic development.
The Lao general conveyed the regards of General Chansamone Chanyalath, Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister of Laos, to Vietnamese Defense Minister General Phan Van Giang.
Acknowledging and praising the cooperation achievements between the two GDLs, he recalled the first Vietnam - Laos Border Defense Friendship Exchange held in December 2021 where the two military medical forces closely coordinated to provide health check-ups and gifts to border people, helping tighten the relationship between the two countries and militaries.

He suggested the two GDLs continue to hold health check-up programs for people in border areas, further exchange experience, and improve expertise.
Earlier, Lt. Gen. Tran Duy Giang, Director of the General Department of Logistics of the Vietnam People’s Army, held talks with his Lao counterpart Lt. Gen. Khamphet Sisanone.
At the meeting, Lt. Gen. Giang emphasized the consolidation and development of the two countries’ great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation. He said that it is the good foundation to help promote the cooperative ties and mutual support between the two defense ministries and the two military logistic sectors.

Given that the visit takes place in the context that the two countries successfully organized the Vietnam - Laos and Laos - Vietnam Year of Friendship and Solidarity in 2022, the Lao general believed that it will contribute to enhancing the special friendship and solidarity between the two GDLs in particular and the two militaries in general.
During the talks, the two generals informed each other of the logistics services in their militaries. They emphasized that in actively and pro-actively overcoming difficulties, the military logistics sectors of Laos and Vietnam have comprehensively carried out all working aspects, reaping important achievements, meeting task requirements in the new situation.
Both sides spoke highly of the close coordination between their GDLs in terms of delegation exchange, training, and their participation in the first joint search and rescue exercise among Vietnamese, Lao, and Cambodian militaries.
They agreed to further their close cooperation, well implement cooperative tasks assigned by the two defense ministries, enhance sharing of information to improve management and direction quality to build each side’s comprehensively-strong military logistics sector.
