Vietnam-Thailand defense cooperation to be boosted
PANO – The Thailand Embassy in Hanoi hosted a banquet on March 29 to mark the Royal Thai Armed Forces Day.

Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army attended the event.
Speaking at the event, Chargé D'affaires of the Thai Embassy in Vietnam Morakot Janemathukorn emphasized that over the past years, Vietnam-Thailand relations, including defense cooperation, have continuously strengthened.
On the occasion, Mrs. Morakot Janemathukorn congratulated Vietnam on successfully fulfilling its role as the 2020 ASEAN Chair and effectively controlling the COVID-19 pandemic. She hoped that Thailand-Vietnam relations will be further strengthened in the future, contributing to peace, prosperity, and happiness of the people of the two countries.
For his part, General Tan highlighted the fruitful development in Vietnam-Thailand defense cooperation over the past time. Tan thanked the Thai Defense Ministry and Royal Thai Armed Forces’ strong support for Vietnam's ASEAN Chairmanship year 2020 and believed that with strong political determination, goodwill, and efforts of the two countries, their defense cooperation will grow stronger, contributing to strengthening the Vietnam-Thailand strategic partnership.
