During the meeting, General Cuong welcomed Col. Jiangbo and the Chinese delegation, emphasizing that the visit provided an opportunity for both sides to further enhance mutual understanding and strengthen cooperation in maritime defense and security. He expressed appreciation for Col. Jiangbo and the China Coast Guard for maintaining regular exchanges and coordination with the Vietnamese side, particularly in joint activities and cooperation between the two coast guard forces.
According to the Commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard, building on the positive relationship between the two Defense Ministries, cooperation between the Vietnam Coast Guard and the China Coast Guard has grown increasingly substantive and in-depth. Joint activities have continued to expand and diversify in both form and content.
Maj. Gen. Le Dinh Cuong expressed his hope that in the coming time, the two forces would maintain close coordination, effectively implement agreed cooperation activities, strengthen exchanges, and promptly address arising issues at sea to prevent escalation or complications. He also proposed developing additional exchange programs, cooperation activities, and experience-sharing mechanisms at the unit level.
He stressed that effective management of maritime differences not only helps maintain a peaceful and stable maritime environment, but also creates favorable conditions to expand cooperation between the two coast guard forces.

Regarding cooperation between the Vietnam Coast Guard and the Chinese Defense Attaché’s Office, the Commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard noted that the two sides have maintained regular meetings and exchanges on relevant matters. The Chinese Defense Attaché’s Office has contributed significantly to promoting substantive and effective cooperation between the two coast guard forces. He expressed his hope that Col. Jiangbo would continue to serve as a bridge to advance bilateral cooperation.
For his part, the Chinese diplomat congratulated Maj. Gen. Le Dinh Cuong on assuming his position as Commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard and expressed confidence that, under his leadership, cooperation between the two forces would continue to advance. He also extended his regards and sympathy to people of the central Vietnam affected by the recent severe flooding.
