Vietnam and Malaysia boost their defense cooperation
PANO - Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang hosted a reception on June 28 for Chief of the Royal Malaysian Navy, Admiral Tan Sri Ahmad Kamarulzaman Bin Haji Ahmad Badaruddin, who is on a working visit to Vietnam.
At the reception at the headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense, General Giang, who is member of the Party Central Committee, permanent member of the Central Military Commission, Chief-of-the-General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army and Deputy-Defense Minister, warmly welcomed the visiting Malaysian Admiral, considering it a lever to boost the cooperation between the two navies in particular and the bilateral defense ties between the two countries in general.
General Giang confirmed that the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense’s leadership always creates favorable conditions for the two navies to develop their cooperation.
For his part, the Malaysian Admiral thanked the Vietnamese side for sending Frigate 011-Dinh Tien Hoang to take part in the 2017 Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA 2017) hosted by Malaysia.
Speaking highly of the fruitful cooperation between the two navies, the Malaysian Admiral held that he always encourages Malaysia’s Army and Air Force to reinforce cooperative ties with the Vietnamese side.
At the reception, the guest also informed the host of some main features on Malaysia’s political situation over the past time.
