PANO – The bilateral high-ranking delegation exchanges, and experience and information sharing play an important role in building up and developing the armies of Vietnam and Cambodia.
This was made clear by General Phung Quang Thanh, Minister of National Defence, at the reception for General Neang Phat, Secretary of State of the Cambodian Defence Ministry, on September 14th.

Having hailed the Cambodian general’s official visit to Vietnam, General Phung Quang Thanh underlined that the Vietnamese Defence Ministry would do its utmost to boost their defence cooperation, contributing to heightening the solidarity and relationship of the two countries’ States and peoples.
For his part, General Neang Phat informed the host of the outcomes of his talks with Senior Lieutenant General Ngo Xuan Lich, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA), and stressed the role of politics in building each country’s armed forces. He hoped the two sides would boost their cooperation in this work.

* Previously, Senior Lieutenant General Ngo Xuan Lich held talks with General Neang Phat.
They exchanged views on international and regional issues; reviewed achievements in their defence cooperation since 2014 in the fields of politics, education and training, information dissemination of major events by the two armies, and the repatriation of the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and military experts who had died while doing the international service in Cambodia; and rolled out their joint missions for the second half of 2015 and the following years.
