MND delegation attends 4th SEDEC in Turkey
PANO - A delegation from the Ministry of National Defense (MND), led by Lieutenant General Pham Truong Son, Deputy Chief of the General Staff, is attending the fourth Security and Defense Expo (SEDEC) in Ankara, Turkey from May 19-25.

The Vietnamese delegation’s attendance at the event is at the invitation of the Turkish Ministry of National Defense and Defense Industry Agency.
After the opening of the 4th SEDEC, the Vietnamese delegation had working sessions with Chief of the General Staff of Turkish military General Metin Gurak, and Turkish Minister of National Defense Yasar Guler.
During these meetings, the hosts hailed the Vietnamese MND for sending a high-ranking delegation to this year’s SEDEC, importantly contributing to the success of the event and enhancement of the two sides’ cooperation according to the spirit agreed by the two countries’ senior leaders.
They expressed thanks to Vietnam for sending a rescue team to Turkey in February 2023 to support the country’s efforts in overcoming the consequences of the earthquake in the South.
The two officials confirmed that there remains much room for the two sides to cooperate and wished to boost cooperation in defense, including defense industry, training and sharing of experience.

Lt. Gen. Pham Truong Son thanked the hosts and Turkish agencies, organizing board of the expo for their solemn reception. He spoke highly of the fruitful friendly and traditional relations between the two countries and the country’s efforts to restructure areas devastated by the earthquake last year.
The Vietnamese general asked the leader of the Turkish MND and military to create conditions for the country’s defense industry enterprises to display their products at this year’s Vietnam International Defense Expo.
While attending the 4th SEDEC, the Vietnamese delegation toured booths at the event and worked with some participating defense industry enterprises.
