The event was jointly organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Command, the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association’s Ho Chi Minh municipal and Tay Ninh provincial chapters, the Tay Ninh provincial Union of Friendship Organizations, and Tam Viet doctors.

During the event, the medical staff checked health, gave health consultation, and medicines to poor people, elderly, orphans, and needy students in the localities.

The organizers presented more than VND 300 million to Tan Bien district to build four “Military-civilian sentiment” houses for the needy; and 800 gifts with VND 160 million in total value to families facing hard living conditions.

In his speech, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nam, Commanding General of the Ho Chi Minh City Command and Head of the municipal chapter of the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association, emphasized the practical meaning of the program. He said that the event helped improve the life of people living along the Vietnam-Cambodia border and was a testament to the special friendship between the two peoples.

Gen. Nam added that in the coming time, the Ho Chi Minh City Command and the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association’s municipal chapter would coordinate with units and localities to carry out more practical activities so as to further consolidate and promote the friendly and cooperative ties between Vietnam and Cambodia.
