Founding anniversary of Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces marked in Hanoi
PANO - The Cuban Embassy in Vietnam held a reception on December 6 in Hanoi to celebrate the 68th anniversary of the Granma yacht’s landing and founding anniversary of the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces (December 2, 1956 - 2024), and the 64th anniversary of the Vietnam - Cuba diplomatic relations (December 2, 1960 - 2024).
Present at the event was Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army.

Addressing the event, Colonel Román Osvaldo Jiménez Ortega, Cuban military, naval and air attaché to Vietnam, expressed his belief that on the basis of the fruitful relations between the two countries, the bilateral defense ties would be continuously consolidated.
On this occasion, the Cuban officer sent deep thanks to the Party, Government, and people of Vietnam, especially the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense, for their great support.

In his speech, General Tan underlined the special traditional friendship between Vietnam and Cuba over the past 64 years. He also stressed that the relationship between the Vietnam People’s Army and the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces always receives due attention from generations of leaders of the two countries and defense ministries.

At the same time, General Tan emphasized that the defense cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba has become a pillar in the two countries’ relations; and that Vietnamese Party, State, and people and the Vietnam People’s Army would further stand side by side with Cuban people and the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces in the fight for peace, independence, and socialism.
