At the reception, General Silivong congratulated Vietnam on its recent major achievements over the past time and believed that under the sound leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Vietnamese people would gain more successes in the renewal process.
General Silivong expressed his pleasure at the comprehensive development of the bilateral special relationship and thanked Vietnam for effective support for his country.
The Lao general also informed the host of the recent situation in his country and outcomes of his talks with General Luong Cuong, member of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee, permanent member of the Central Military Commission, and Director of the VPA’s General Department of Politics. He affirmed that the Lao Defense Ministry would continue to cooperate with the Vietnamese Defense Ministry to effectively implement the agreements reached by the two Parties, States, and defense ministries.
For his part, Mr. Tran Quoc Vuong congratulated Laos on its important achievements after three years of implementing the resolution adopted by the 10th National Party Congress and emphasized that Vietnam would do its best to strengthen the special ties between Vietnam and Laos for the benefits of each nation and for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
He highly appreciated the outcomes of bilateral defense cooperation and considered it one of the pillars in the Vietnam - Laos relationship.
The Vietnamese official urged the two defense ministries to further uphold their traditions, closely work together to realize defense cooperation agreements and resolutely foil all plots of hostile forces, and disseminate the significance of the Vietnam - Laos special solidarity and relationship among troops.
* The same day, General Ngo Xuan Lich, member of the Politburo, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission and Defense Minister, hosted a reception for General Silivong.
General Silivong conveyed a big thank from Lao Defense Minister, General Chansamone Chanyalath to General Lich for his presence at the ceremony to celebrate the LPA’s 70th founding anniversary (January 20, 1949 - 2019). The guest then briefed General Lich on the outcomes of his talks with General Cuong.
Hailing the outcomes of the talks between General Silivong and General Cuong, General Lich expressed his confidence that the two countries' militaries would continue to well coordinate in Party and political work, raise their determination and revolutionary vigilance and combat spirit to defeat all attempts of hostile forces, thus contributing to promoting the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, States, militaries, and peoples.
