PANO – On June 7th, nearly 10 symposiums on military medicine was held at Military Hospital 17 of Military Zone 5 between crewmembers of the visiting Japanese ship Kunisaki and doctors of the hospital, under the 2014 Pacific Partnership program.

The participants exchanged their experience in providing first aid, treating injured troops in battles, conducting safe blood transfusion, and ordering the evacuation of field medical clinics in an emergency.
Naval doctor Kenvin Lunney, a member of the 2014 Pacific Partnership program, said by sharing experience and professionalism in the health sector they wish to bring the best things to Vietnamese patients.
Colonel Nguyen Huu Binh, Director of the hospital, highly appreciated medical experience from the foreigners and promised to apply what they learnt from the symposiums into reality to improve the patient treatment quality .
The Kunisaki ship with crewmembers aboard to join the 2014 Pacific Partnership program docked at the Tien Sa port in Da Nang city on June 6th. Promoted by the United States Navy (USN), the program is to enhance collaboration between the region’s military forces and charitable organizations during disaster relief operations, while providing humanitarian and medical assistance to regional countries.
