Vietnam’s 3rd tank crew destroys 4/5 targets in the third round
The third tank crew of Vietnam competed with their peers from Myanmar and Qatar in the third round of the “Tank Biathlon” event on August 29 at the Alabino military training grounds.

Vietnam’s third tank crew finished the first lap successfully. The crew operated their tank at a maximum speed, overcame all obstacles perfectly and destroyed all of the first three targets.
It also started the second lap very well by eliminating target No.25. Unfortunately, when the Vietnamese crew was about to finish the second lap, their tank suddenly broke down. The technical failure needed to be repaired which resulted in a loss of valuable time.
The Vietnamese crew failed to destroy target No.9 of the final lap.
The results released by the organizing panel read: The Myanmar team finished the third round in 33’39”, ranked first; Vietnam completed the third round in 37’52”, ranked second; Qatar reached the finish line in 42’03”, ranked third.
The final results of the third round will be announced by the organizing panel after all games finish on August 30.
Vietnam’s chemical team ranks fourth of the competition
The chemical team of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) began the third round of the “Safe Environment” event at Pesochnoe training ground in Kostroma, Russia, on August 29.
During this final round of “Relay,” two tanks of the Vietnamese chemical team had to follow each other as specified by the draw.
The first crew’s mission was to find hidden radioactive material and put out a target that is on fire while the second crew’s task was to collect a chemical sample and decontaminate it with a self-contained decontamination apparatus (APSO)
After members of the first crew went through the obstacle course, they passed the “race baton” to the second crew.
Finally, the two Vietnamese crews performed well and ranked fourth among nine participating teams. The first position went to the Russian chemical team.
Additionally, Vietnamese crew-members, Lieutenant Vu Van Hung won the “Excellent decontamination staff” title, and Lieutenant Bui Quang Hung was awarded with the Friendship Order.
Vietnam’s art troupe commended
The Vietnamese art troupe was honored with a certificate of merit by the Organizing Panel of the International Military-Technical Forum 2020 (Army-2020 Forum in short) in recognition of their contributions to the event.
The honoring ceremony took place at Patriot Park, in the outskirts of Moscow, Russia, on the morning of August 29. Colonel Dang My Hanh, head of the Vietnamese art troupe, received the certificate.
Vietnamese snipers achieve max points
Continuing the second stage of the “Sniper Frontier” event, the Vietnamese sniper team competed in three exercises and gained maximum points.
They ranked third in the “Hunting” exercise with 40 out of 40 points, right after the Belarusian and Russian teams.
In the “Take a decision” exercise, they maintained their third position with a total of 150 points (including 30 awarded points).
However, in the “Shooting from partner” exercise, their position dropped to fifth due to the time result.
The Vietnamese sniper team entered the last exercise of the second stage of the “Sniper Frontier” event on August 30.
* The Vietnamese service dog handler team took part in the “Marksman” competition of the “True Friend” service dog handler competition on August 29.
Consequently, they are ranked third among eight participating teams. Major Vu Khac Bien ranked second among 28 participants in the competition with 139 points.
The team takes part in the “Dog Biathlon” relay race on August 30.
