Vietnam to join world youth festival in Russia
PANO – One hundred and sixteen young Vietnamese will attend the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students (WFYS 2017) in Sochi, Russia between October 14 and 22.
The information was released at a press conference organized by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union’s Central Committee in Hanoi on October 11.
The participation of Vietnam in the event will contribute to popularizing the country’s land and people, introducing the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, youth organizations, demonstrating the vital role of young people in the national construction and defense cause as well as promoting solidarity, friendship and cooperation between Vietnamese youth and their international peers. From this point, the Vietnamese delegates will help heighten Vietnam’s position and contributions to the global youth movements for peace, democracy and social development.
Additionally, it is a good opportunity for the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union to strengthen friendly and cooperative relationship with Russian partners, making contributions to the Vietnam-Russian comprehensive strategic partnership.
The festival is one of the most important political events held by the World Federation of Democratic Youth in order to consolidate the international youth community, strengthen international ties, and promote international and intercultural cooperation.
