Vietnamese Ambassador to Mozambique Nguyen Van Trung had a meeting with Mozambiquean Interior Minister Jaime Monteiro in Maputo capital on July 3.
The Vietnamese Ambassador said that Vietnam attaches importance to security cooperation between two countries, and announced that Vietnam will continue to receive 50 Mozambiquean policemen for training at Vietnam’s People’s Police Academy in 2015.
The ambassador thanked the Mozambiquean Interior Ministry for measures to ensure safety for the Vietnamese Viettel Group’s investment in the country. He also asked for further measures to protect Vietnamese people who are living and working in Mozambique amid recent complicated situation.

On his part, Minister Monteiro spoke highly of the collaboration between two security ministries to implement the cooperation agreements on the fight against crimes and training.
He added that information sharing between two countries about trans-boundary crimes has made great contributions to ensuring public order and safety for residents.
The Minister appreciated the cooperation between two law enforcement authorities in the fight against illegal trade of endangered species and their parts. He also hailed the Vietnamese Embassy’s communications efforts to raise the awareness of the Vietnamese community about protecting wildlife animals.
He thanked Vietnam for the support in training and sharing experience with Mozambiquean police, saying that he is planning to visit Vietnam in 2016.
To date, Vietnam has helped Mozambique train two interior ministry officials and 29 policemen.
