Vietnam – EU’s backbone in the SEA strategy
PANO – The celebration of the Europe Days was held on the evening of May 9 in Hanoi, with the attendance of Ambassador Bruno Angelet, Head of the European Union (EU) Mission to Vietnam, and Vietnamese Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh.
Addressing the event, Ambassador Bruno Angelet stressed that in recent years, the Vietnam-EU relations have seen big development in both scope and scale and in various fields of politics, economy, security, defense, culture, education, and more.
He considered Vietnam the key pillar in the EU’s strategy of engagement in the Southeast Asian (SEA). He said that the EU expects that the Free Trade Agreement will be signed at the end of this year. The agreement will not only help increase the size and quality of the Vietnamese economy, but also turn Vietnam into a gateway and a manufacturing center for EU companies when they enter ASEAN.
