The National Assembly of Vietnam continuously supports the Party, State and Government in enhancing the traditional friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba.
Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan made this remark during a reception for Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, who is on a working visit to Vietnam from September 9-12 at the invitation of Deputy Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh.
The Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Parliamentarian Association is undertaking joint efforts to increase mutual understanding between the two sides, she noted.
She thanked the Cuban Party, State and people for their valuable support during Vietnam’s struggle for independence, freedom and unification, as well as during the ongoing process of national development.
She expressed her wish that the two countries would increase cooperation in all fields, particularly in politics, economics and culture, benefitting both countries.
Both nations need to educate young people on the special and long-standing friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Cuba, she added.
For his part, the Cuban Foreign Minister said he believed Vietnam and Cuba would expand their bilateral cooperation in all fields of mutual interest.
