Japan helps enhance capacity for infrastructure finance

The Japanese government has decided to help the Vietnam Development Bank (VDB) to implement the project “Institutional Capacity Development for Infrastructure Finance in Vietnam.”
The Record of Discussion of the project was signed in Hanoi on June 12 by VDB General Director, Nguyen Quang Dung, and Resident Representative of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Hanoi, Hiroaki Nakagawaon.
The project, scheduled to begin later this year, will last for three years. The study will cover entire area of Vietnam.
The project aims at establishing Framework of VDB's governance, improving Credit risk management, enhancing Knowledge of fund mobilisation and ALM (Asset and Liability Management), and strengthening Human resources development system.
A Joint Coordinating Committee (JCC) will be established in order to implement the study effectively and efficiently, JICA said, adding that it will also dispatch experts on relevant fields to Vietnam to assist the implementation of the project.
