A Germany-Vietnam Day was held in the southern province of Soc Trang on December 11 to mark the 35th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
The event was jointly organized by the management board of the German-sponsored wastewater and solid wastes in Vietnam’s provinces and Soc Trang Urban Work Company.
A meeting to mark the 35th anniversary of Germany-Vietnam diplomatic ties was held on the day in Bach Dang square.
Additionally, the organisers also donated scholarships to poor and outstanding students, and granted houses to poor workers. Photos exhibition and music performances were also held.
In the recent years, Germany has carried out many investment projects in Vietnam, especially the wastewater and solid waste management project which contributed to reducing environmental pollution in the country.
Soc Trang is one of provinces that actively implemented the project and plans to put this system into operation in 2011
