The delegates visited a model of effective start-up agribusiness by a young local in De E village, Le Loi commune, Hoanh Bo district.

On the occasion, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee granted “Vu A Dinh” scholarships, worth 500,000 VND each, to impoverished students with excellent academic results.

During the Model ASEM, a 3-day simulation of the actual ASEM, the delegates discussed three ASEM pillars, namely economic, political and socio-cultural issues, and released a related joint statement.

It was the first time Vietnam has hosted the ASEM Youth Week and the Model ASEM which brought together more than 100 youths and students from nearly 30 ASEM state members.

The ASEM Youth Week is an initiative co-sponsored by Vietnam, Brunei, Ireland and Laos, which was endorsed at the 10th ASEM Summit in October 2014 in Milan, Italy.

The events aims at enhancing the youth’s understanding of Asia-Europe partnership and the ASEM process, raising awareness among the youth of potential cooperation on poverty eradication, and providing them a platform to take actions in the fight against hunger.
