Oliver Fuegen and his wife visiting the highest mountain peak of Vietnam at 3,143m above sea level

Strongly impressed by the beauty of Hai Phong City when he was on a business trip to the Vietnam in January 2019, Oliver Fuegen, 40 years old, decided to live and work in the beautiful Asian country.

Instead of booking tours, Oliver and his wife planned their own trips to stay in and discover places as long as they want to. Since he decided to live and work in Vietnam in 2019, Oliver and his wife have traveled to various amazing tourist attractions in Vietnam, including Hanoi, Cat Ba, Ha Long Bay, Trang An – Ninh Binh, Sapa, Da Nang, Hue, Hoi An, Ho Chi Minh City, and Can Tho. They are planning to have more memorable experiences of other famous places in the S-shaped country, including Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, and Da Lat.

The foreign couple shared that they are impressed by not only the beauty of natural landscapes in Vietnam, but also the hospitality of the Vietnamese people and social safety. Oliver and his wife said that they feel safe in Vietnam as they always receive support from their local people during their trips.

Oliver remembered the time when he was in Hai Phong City. As he and his wife felt overwhelmed and did not know how to cross a street in the city, an older woman was happy to help them.

Staying in Vietnam during COVID-19 pandemic time, the couple always felt like home as they were cared by the Vietnamese government and people.

They are also interested in Vietnamese children who are always friendly and want to practice their English speaking skill.

Oliver and his wife planned to stay in Vietnam for three years. However, the beauty of Vietnam and the hospitality of the Vietnamese people have made them stay longer in the country before settling down in Oliver’ or his wife’s motherland.

They said that Vietnam and its people will forever hold a special position in their heart.
