Vietnamese Minister of Foreign Affairs receives U.S. Trade Representative
PANO - Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son hosted a reception in Hanoi on February 13 for U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai.
At the reception, the two sides discussed numerous issues to foster the bilateral ties as well as the cooperation between the two countries within the framework of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF).

The two sides also underlined the potential of Vietnam - U.S. cooperation in climate change response, energy transition, digital transformation, and green growth.
They stressed the importance of promoting free, open and fair trade in line with international laws, sustainable and inclusive growth in the region in which ASEAN countries play a central role.
For her part, U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai highly appreciated Vietnam's participation in the regional economic integration process over the past time. She said that the U.S. attaches importance to strengthening partnership with Asia-Pacific and Indian Ocean countries.
Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son suggested the U.S. soon materialise its commitments to supporting Vietnam and countries in carrying out international agreements on climate change response, including the declaration on the Just Energy Transition Partnership.
