Vietnamese, Korean officials share experience in nation building, development
Assoc. Prof., Dr. Duong Trung Y, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics (HCMA), on June 9 received and worked with a delegation from the National Institute for Unification Education (NIU) of the Republic of Korea (RoK), led by Nam Misun.
Welcoming the NIU delegation, Y shared that the HCMA has over 200 international partners from more than 60 countries and international organizations, including many long-standing and important partners in the RoK.
In particular, it has maintained close cooperation with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and Samsung Group, especially in the field of education over the past 10 years. It has also collaborated with the Korean National Diplomatic Academy and the Korea Institute of Human Resources Development through research programs and thematic exchanges for Vietnam’s strategically planned officials.
The head of the NIU delegation said that her delegation consists of trainees who are mid- to senior-level officials from government agencies and local authorities. The purpose of their visit is to study Vietnam’s administrative system, public policy, and the role of civil servants.
According to Nam, the delegation is interested in Vietnam’s civil servant training policies, public administration models. Through the visit, they also sought to explore Vietnam’s models for training political personnel and developing strategic and administrative policies, especially the establishment of systems that connect central and local governments, as well as one locality with the other to achieve common socio-economic development goals.
