Building a socialist law-governed nation was the focus of a working session between State President Nguyen Minh Triet and the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) in Hanoi on May 27.

President Triet applauded the topic tabled for discussion and the valued opinions of the VFF Central Committee’s Standing Board and its consultative councils. The President noted shortcomings in the country’s law and judicial systems as areas needing attention.

The State leader asked consultative councils to conduct in-depth research and make recommendations to judicial reform, as well as solutions to build a law system without accompanying decrees and circulars.

He went on to urge the Fatherland Front Central Committee to uphold the working model and improve its activities with a view to encouraging the people to contribute further to the building of the Party and a socialist law-governed State.

Opinions put forth at the session emphasised the importance of building of a strong law-ruled State to satisfy new development requirements. The issue topped the concerns of the Party, State and Fatherland Front and reflected an aspiration of the entire people.
