The MoU, to be valid until March 2021, clarifies common principles, goals, scopes, and forms of collaboration and assistance among the sides involved. It is part of the UK’s commonwealth fund to support its partners and other countries in boosting administrative reform and economic development for poverty reduction and comprehensive growth.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Minister-Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung stated that Vietnam always attaches importance to cooperation with the UK and the freshly inked pact reflects efforts and commitments of both sides in administrative reform cooperation.

He hoped the two UK bodies will assist Vietnam in training to create breakthroughs in administrative reform.

UK Ambassador to Vietnam Gareth Ward said the signing aims at stepping up reform and economic development in ASEAN markets and Vietnam.

The UK will help Vietnam improve its business climate and a number of sectors, including infrastructure, smart city building, finance and health, he added.
