She voiced admiration for Türkiye’s rapid progress in defense industries and proposed new areas for partnership, believing that the upcoming Vietnam visits by leaders of the Turkish defense ministry and SSB would inject fresh momentum into bilateral relations.
The host leaders stressed that Türkiye considers Vietnam an important partner in Asia and wished for deeper defense ties, which have gained traction in recent years.
SSB President Gorgun underscored Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s November 2023 visit to Türkiye as a major milestone in bilateral ties.
Minister Guler expressed interest in expanding collaboration and thanked Vietnam for the support of Türkiye’s engagement with ASEAN.
Bilateral diplomatic relations, established in 1978, have seen steady growth in defense cooperation through high-level exchanges and agreements, setting the stage for more substantive collaboration moving forward.
