Vietnam and Portugal has many similarities and the two nations can exchange experiences on economic development and social policies, especially in the fields of social insurance and wages.

The two leaders also agreed that the Portuguese Ministry would coordinate with relevant ministries and agencies in Vietnam such as the Ministry of Labor and Invalids and Social Affairs and Ministry of Interior in reforming wage policies and social insurance.
