The Hannara was the main training ship of the Korea Maritime and Ocean University for a long period of time and effectively served navigation training in the RoK.

The Hannara training ship has arrived at MPC Port in Hai Phong city.

The vessel still has good quality and technology and meets all the requirements for an international training ship, he said.

To be renamed VMU Viet-Han (VMU Vietnam-RoK), the Hannara is capable of providing world-standard training courses to maritime students, officers, and sailors, especially those involved in the internship program of the International Maritime Organization, which none of existing training ships in Vietnam can do.

Transfer and reception will be carried out from September 23 to 26, Duong said, adding that this marks a historic milestone for VMU as well as Vietnam’s maritime sector, as this is the first time the country has possessed a modern training ship of international standard.
