In his opening speech, Minister Dung urged all ministries, sectors and localities nationwide to mobilize all resources for and prioritize the building of e-Government.

He noted that Vietnam gained important results in e-Government building in 2019, including the sending and reception of documents via the National E-Document Exchange Platform (which was launched on March 12) and processing of documents online, along with the launch of the e-Cabinet system and the national public service portal.

As of February 25, 2020, about 1.3 million e-documents had been sent and received via the national exchange platform. Notably, the total number in the 10th month after its launch doubled that in the first month.

Meanwhile, the national public service portal has recorded more than 65,900 registrations and over 17 million visits. As many as 1.9 million of dossiers were synchronized in the portal, of which 11,000 ones were successfully handled online.

Minister Dung said the country needs to accelerate the use of digital signatures and online working document processing in the coming time, adding that administrative procedure simplification and provision of online public services on the national portal are viewed as key tasks to step up the process.

For his part, Ambassador Umeda said Japan will closely work with Vietnam in building an e-Government.

“We are ready to send experienced experts in the field and present equipment to Vietnam for the successful e-Government building of the country,” said the diplomat.

At the event, Japanese experts shared experiences in building digital government and the information system for official statistics with their Vietnamese counterparts.
