Welcoming the delegation to Vietnam, VFF President Do Van Chien expressed his delight at the robust development of the Vietnam-Republic of Korea (RoK) Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. He noted that political trust between the two nations continued to be reinforced, with frequent exchanges of delegations at all levels. The two countries have also worked closely together and supported each other at regional and international forums.
Comrade Do Van Chien affirmed that the remarkable achievements in bilateral relations have been significantly contributed by the people-to-people diplomacy. He hoped that in the time to come, the VESAMO will continue to collaborate closely with the Vietnamese people’s friendship organizations, such as the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) to promote people-to-people exchanges, assist in resolving difficulties to help citizens of both countries better integrate into their host societies, thereby nurturing the friendship between Vietnam and RoK.
At the event, VUFO’s Phan Anh Son expressed his appreciation to the members of the VESAMO, who have consistently shown deep affection for the Vietnamese community in RoK, for victims of Agent Orange/dioxin, and for underprivileged Vietnamese students.
For his part, Chang Ho Ick reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with the VUFO to implement more meaningful activities that further strengthen the cooperative and friendly relationship and enhance people-to-people diplomacy between the two nations.
Also on June 27 in Hanoi, VESAMO, in collaboration with the VUFO, the Vietnam Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin (VAVA), and other relevant units, held a ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of two “houses of compassion” for families of AO victims. Additionally, they provided VND 100 million in livelihood support for ten such families in Hanoi, with each household receiving VND 10 million.
As part of this visit to Vietnam, the delegation from VESAMO is also exploring investment and cooperation opportunities in Quang Ninh province. They also organized a Vietnam-RoK friendship exchange in Hanoi, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the South Liberation and National Reunification Day.
Founded in 2002 in Busan, RoK, VESAMO is a non-profit organization. Its members include scholars, entrepreneurs, lawyers, artists, intellectuals, and individuals from various walks of life. Over the past 20 years, VESAMO has consistently demonstrated goodwill and provided practical support for the Vietnamese community in RoK, while actively organizing friendship gatherings and promoting bilateral investment initiatives.
