Vietnam and Cambodia discuss border affairs
PANO - A meeting of the Vietnam-Cambodia Joint Committee on Land Border Demarcation and Marker Planting took place in Hanoi from March 29-31.
The Vietnamese side was led by Le Hoai Trung, Deputy-Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the National Boundary Commission under the Foreign Ministry, while the Cambodian side was headed by Var Kim Hong, Senior Minister in charge of border affairs.

At the meeting, the two sides affirmed their strongest determination and efforts to complete 84 percent of the border demarcation and marker-planting and thereafter legalize the accomplishment.
The two sides reviewed the implementation of the task over the past time and agreed to put forth orientations, plans, roadmaps and measures to carry out the task in the coming time.
They also reached an agreement on formulating legal documents recognizing the outcome of the border demarcation and maker-planting.
On March 31 afternoon, the two sides signed a minute of the meeting the Prime Ministers of Vietnam and Cambodia jointly acting as witnesses to the document.
